-=::TIME TO RETREAT!::=-
The Riki Tik boys have teamed up with Brighton’s forward thinking creative collective from The Caxton Arms; “Producer’s Retreat”
Producer’s Retreat is a monthly get together where exciting and experienced artists and producers can showcase their skills to newbies and veterans alike. Over the past 12 months they have guested exclusive sets from acts such as: Kidkanevil, Hizzle Guy, Tom Caruana, Aztk, Ido & The Evil Sun and Beyond; co-fronted by Max Wheeler of cult UK hip-hop duo Dirty Diggers.
DJs shall not let them get away lightly from showing us their skills on the turntables – graced in the last few months by the likes of Darkhouse Family (Metabeats / Chesus & Don Leisure), Dark Sky (Black Acre / Ninja Tune), Throwing Snow (A Future Without / Ho-Tep), Greymatter (Mr. Bongo Bass), Thirsty Ear & Blood Boy (This City Is Ours).

We Are Pseudonym (WAP) are getting a serious team of graffiti artists together in Portsmouth on 29th January 2011. The event, entitled ‘The Utility Of Space’ will see respected artists such as Aroe (MSK + HA), Trans 1 (TND + AP), Gary (MSK + HA), Ebee (TND), Fark FK (TND + PAM), Snub 23 (GW), and many more, all coming together to paint hoardings around the iconic Zurich House in the city centre.
The event will be the first of its kind to attract such big names to the seaside city, but hopefully it won’t be the last. Long time collaborators Pseudonym and Fark FK are helping lead the way in the upsurge of street art and graffiti projects in Portsmouth and Southsea. Aiming to reclaim some of the under developed or forgotten areas of the city for more creative and inspirational use, We Are Pseudonym are hopeful that Portsmouth is taking the first steps to a more colourful future.

So I’m finally back from Latitude.
Not all necessarily SNUB style work but hardcore work none the less.
I’m estimating that myself, Miss SNUB and EyeSaw painted about 100 metres of 8ft wall. Mostly repeat wallpaper patterns in A2 sections.
Lots of highlights to a week in the country working in a grain store and sleeping in a tent, but the best bit for me was working with my good lady and best friend Miss SNUB. This is just a small part of the work she knocked out throughout the week . Next year the organisers say she’ll be commissioned properly just like me as she’s way more than just an assistant.
I couldn’t be more proud 🙂

One of my paste ups in the big smoke in a book.
“Acclaimed photographer Alex MacNaughton has made it his mission to capture every kind of street art-from stencils to wheatpastes and stickers to murals. Brimming with new works found all over London, this riot of colour, political commentary, passion, and humour is presented in stunning reproductions, each labeled with the street location, and featuring artists such as Sweet Toof, Swoon, and Eine. From femme fatales by CopyRight to huge multi-artist murals by AAGH crew, the scope of this groundbreaking book is reflected in a larger format which shows off the stunning new photography. Illuminated with quotes by the artists and gallerists who show their work, this exciting new book reflects how London as a city, a home, a gallery, and a studio influences street art today.”
I’m not sure how I swung this one. The only UK artist in this show at the Brick Lane gallery.
“The Brick Lane Gallery is proud to present “The Brick Lane Zoo” where exotic and wild animals fresh from the city streets cross the globe to showcase at The Brick Lane Zoo.
13 international Street and Urban Artists from the UK, France, Spain, USA, Argentina, Belgium and Germany come together under one roof armed with spraycans, paste ups and stencils to unleash their wild beasts into our urban jungle. Feral animals will roam the gallery walls and stray between the visitors. The upper canopy will be adorned with a striking array of animals ranging from skeletal rhinos and grizzly bears to happy fish. Combining the exceptional talents of our street artists the walls of the gallery will come to life.”
